Panificadora Hawit
Panificadora Hawit was created in 1948. It all started when a baker from the city of Tegucigalpa, who was an expert in making pastry bread, made contact with the bakery’s founding family. It was then that they decided to hire him to make bread where the business that generated their livelihood was located: a grocery store. Bread was made on the home stove and displayed for sale in one of the shop's showcases. The bread was so good that it sold quickly. They began to distribute the bread on bicycles, then by means of a car that with much effort they managed to acquire. They produced Pastry Bread, White Bread, Semita, Polvorón, Campiranas, Relámpagos, and a special machine was also purchased to make Bread Sticks, which gave very good sales results.
Today, Panificadora Hawit is one of the most important bakeries in Honduras, providing products and service to fast food chains like Burger King, Bigos, Pizza Hut, Chilis, Popeyes and KFC. Panificadora Hawit has a widespread distribution chain in the national territory, and its growth continues to be larger every day.
